We live at Tiffany Greens, fortunate enough to live on one of the golf course fairways. Having lived there a few years, we decided that we needed to have an outdoor space where we could have some shelter from the sun and the rain, and still enjoy watching the beauty and activity of the golf course.

When looking for a builder to convert our 18' x 15' deck to a screened porch, we found Mr. Jim Bentley. He designed a great concept (drawing with different elevations) that he recommended for our style of home and the standards of the neighborhood.  His design used much of the design of the original deck and much of the existing materials. He topped the structure off with a hip-roof, which would tie in nicely with the existing home.  He allowed us to contribute some decorative ideas and we settled on a collaborative project which included an expanded patio area beneath the porch. The porch floor is 12' above ground level.

We paid Jim in three installments, a third at the beginning, a third in mid build and a final payment at completion. We have to say that Jim is a very industrious builder, who likes to set timetables and stick to his commitments. What a delightful process! And, the finished product as been such a wonderful addition to our home. If you could only see it, the porch is almost as nice a room as a room inside our home

In fact, if we do any further building projects we will have Jim Bentley involved.

We have lived in our home just over five years and due to the western exposure of the deck, it was pretty much unusable during the hot summer months. We’ve been wanting to add a pergola over the existing deck and came across Jim Bentley’s name at the Home Show.

Our primary goal was to achieve continuity so as to give the appearance of being part of the original construction. The configuration of the deck presented some mechanical challenges for which Jim provided a satisfactory solution. The design he proposed was exactly what we were looking for, and we found his price to be very reasonable.
